Description

A portrait of Rev. George E. Adams, who was the minister of the First Parish Congregationalist Church in Brunswick, Maine for 40 years. He was born October 27, 1801 and died December 25, 1875. Rev. Adams was also Frances "Fanny" Caroline Adams Chamberlain's adopted father. Fanny sang and played music in her father's Church and she met Joshua L. Chamberlain there when he was a Bowdoin College student in 1849. This is a duplicate of OH.1726.1.d. Photo not dated.
