A B/W photograph of Robert F. Pennell. Robert F. Pennell (1850-1905) was an educator and author of textbooks on Latin and on the history of Classical Greece and Rome. He received an A.B. from Harvard in 1871, was professor of Latin at Phillips Exeter Academy; Head Master of Buffalo Latin School, Head of the Greek Department of California State Univ., principal of two California high schools, principal of the state normal school, and head of the English department at California Business College. He and his wife Eleanor had one son. Photo not dated.
