Bibbo Riley Whitman the matron of honor, 4.) Burt Whitman and two unidentified people. The back of the photo says "Vance got an honorary degree at Bowdoin." Note: Since he graduated from Bowdoin that year and without honors, it seems unlikely he would receive and honorary degree six months later. The back of the photo goes on to say "Bibbo also catered the wedding which was held at the Whitman house on Mere Point on December 26, 1947."Collection
