"A Sermon on the Martyrdom of King Charles I"
This is quite an early book, possibly early 18th century as it contains an account of the sermon on the martyrdom of King Charles 1. The front and back cover are joined at only one place, the spine is missing, the whole book has been resewn and pages are loose. The name "Thomas Echlin, May 15th 1823, appears in copperplate writing on the table of contents page in the front of the book and at the end as well. There is a list of the Kings and Queens of England on the inside front cover and it goes up to George 4, 1820, so the book couldn't date much before this obviously. Miss C. Greenly 6"L Bathurst is written on a paper label on the inside front cover below the table of Kings and Queens of England. On the front cover is pasted an account of the sermon on the martyrdom of King Charles 1. And a note that Miss Greenley has loaned the book. The paper is brown with age throughout the book and it appears to have great age. Circa: 1820
Note: The Table of Kings and Queens of England might have been pasted on the book much later so the book itself could be early 18th century after all.
