Description

This mahogany stool belongs to the pianoforte (obj. 967.25). It is made in the North American version of the French Empire or Classical Style. It consists of a revolving round top supported by a triangular base with three black bun-shpaed feet. The top is covered in the original horsehair and it is worn in spots. The gimping has decomposed. Circa 1840
