Description

This silver teapot is part of a set which belonged to the Rev. William Bell, who came to Perth on June 24, 1817. It is in the revived Victorian Rococo style with a curved handle and spout, fancy paw feet, ivory bands on the handle, and scrollwork around the lid. The teapot is topped with a convulvulus flower which acts as a finial for the lid. The hallmark appears on the lid but it cannot be read because the mark was struck twice in the same spot. The tea set was made by W. Briggs, and the factory was started in 1823. Circa: 1867
