This is a very nice example of a typical victorian Gentleman's chair of the 1850's. It has a nicely curved walnut frame, covered in dark green velvet, with buttoned and tufted back. The walnut frame holding the back ends in carved acanthus leaves and the curved framing for the arms is nicely carved in simple scrolls. I would date this chair as being circa 1850, possibly 1845. There are castors on all four legs. Right front leg and castor repaired in 1991.Dimensions
