Description

This is a large armchair hand carved of walnut by a Montreal artisan. It is now covered in a tapestry material and decorated with very large brass nailheads which are now tarnished. The carving is in the Victorian rococo style with asymetrical scrolls and flowers etc. Originally, it was given by Mrs. Inderwick's grandmother, Elizabeth Tett to John Denny, her future husband. It dates from the late 1870's.
