Description

The goffering iron is a black bullet shaped, cast iron cylindrical sleeve with a flared rim (7.5cm in length) that stands on a slender (2mm in width) 'S' shaped, wrought iron pedestal supported by a shallow bell shape cas iron foot stalk, 9cm in diameter. A long (25.5cm) thin cylindrical red hot wrought iron poker is inserted into the sleeve (3cm x 10cm x 9.5cm) which heats it up. The poker is 1.5cm in diameter for 10cm then tapers quickly to a handle that is 8mm in diameter and 14.5cm long. The loop at the proximal end is 2.5cm in diameter. The foot stalk is a squashed shallow bell shape with a number '8' imprinted on its underside. The footstalk is attached to the pedestal by a threaded screw. There is a slight protusion on the underside of the sleeve that attached the pedestal to the sleeve and gives it stability.
