Description

This silver service belonged to the Reverend William Bell, who came to Perth in June 24, 1817. The set consists of five pieces, coffee pot, tea pot, creamer, and sugar bowl with seperate lid. They are elaborately decorated with scrolls in the revived Victorian Rococo style and the finials on each piece are in the shape of three dimentiional convulvulus flowers and leaves. A five-part silver hallmark appears on the bottom of the sugar bowl, the creamer, and the top of the lid of the teapot. The latter is effeced due to its being struck twice. Circa: 1867. Made by W. Briggs, factory started in 1823, see back of card.
