Description

This is a ladle made of English Brass. Both the hadle and bowl are brass but they are held together by two copper rivets, one larger the the other. The handle is made from a long, slender but relatively thick piece of brass. The proximal end tapers gradually before it curves around at the end to create a hook for hanging. The distal and curves around the bowl. This end is marked by the two copper rivets and the end corners have been clipped away creating an abrupt tape. The bowl is thinner in thickness than the handle. it is in a crude circular chape and is relatively shallow. It is in good condition except for numerous small nicks and dents. Where the handle and bowl meet and around the rivets is a layer of tarnish and a greenish residue possibly from cleaning solvent.
