Scope and Content

Watercolour and pen and ink drawing of the Mammoth Cheese at the railway station in Perth. Cardboard or card stock. Pale green and grey background with black drawings and black ink. On the left are people standing beside the railway car and there is a building in the back. In the middle is the railway car and on top of the flat bed railway car is a man standing beside crates of cheese. In the middle on top of a flat bed wagon is the Mammoth Cheese. On top there is a sign that says 1893 THIS CHEESE WAS MADE IN PERTH, ONT. CAN There are two yellow maple leaves on each side that says CANADA and on the body of the cheese say 22,000 lbs. On the right is another man standing beside crates of cheese. There are buildings in the back. On the flat bed railway car painted red with black lettering is: CANADIAN PACIFIC RAILWAY. In front of the railway car is the Citizens Perth Band playing. At the bottom in black lettering is the caption: This Mammoth Cheese was made at the Canadian Experimental Dairy Station at Perth Lanark County.
