MathesonHouse2Description
Black and white. Copy.
This house located at the corner of Drummond and Herriott Streets (across from the Perth Public Library) is believed to have been originally located where the Matheson House is located on Gore Street, East. It is thought to have been originally constructed by the Matheson family about 1820. In the late 1830's it was moved to its present location when Roderick Matheson built the stone structure that is now the Perth Museum. Photo: The Perth Courier.
Note: Kitchen and Drawing Room was built between 1835 and 1837 as the original wallpaper was put up in 1837. The main house was built between 1837 and 1840.
