Modified rolling pin shaped wooden handle through which passes through a metal modified bell shaped housing, through which the corkscrew can be seen from two sides. Small metal ring around stem of corkscrew approx. 1.0cm above worm. Corkscrew is free to move through housing both up or down.
Metal parts suffer from varying degrees of oxidization, wooden handle is varnished, some areas have been worn off revealing light coloured woode underneath. Handle is damaged where corkscrew protrudes at top. Corkscrew and housing are made of brass. Unable to ascertain composition of worm. Worm would be screwed into a cork bottle stopper, user would then pull on handle to remove cork. Housing would rest over lip of bottle for stability.
