994.38.1a - Cup, 8.1 cm high, 12.6 cm diameter, with a circumference of 37.9 cm at the top, and 28.2 cm at the bottom. It is glazed on both the inside and outside, which is slightly cracked and stained on the inside. The cup is white at the top and beige towards the bottom. It has a blue transfer design on the inside and outside. On the outside it depicts: a book, a horn, a sword, feathers, and a harp. On the inside there is a sailboat and tall buildings, and a man in a smaller boat pushing a man and a woman across the river. The outside bottom of the cup has a small circular blue transfer mark. The handle is round in shape and curves out at the bottom.
994.38.1b - Saucer, 18.5 cm in diameter, 3.8 cm high. There is cracking in the glaze on the underside and outer surface, and there is a hairline crack 3.6 cm long on the underside. The lip of the base has 2 chips that have darkened with age. The saucer has a blue transfer design of the book, the harp, the fan, and the sword (like on the cup), and in the bottom of the saucer has the man pushing the man and woman in the boat in the bottom of the saucer. On the bottom outside of the saucer there is an engraved "X" with a circle beside it, and "No 27" stamped in cobalt blue with a rectangular box around it.Dimensions
