Description

Plate: This plate is from a set of dishes that formerly belonged to the Haggart family, Perth, Ontario. It has a medium blue transfer design of a flowered border with a fanciful landscape scene featuring a castle and three female figures in costume in the center of the plate. It has a scalloped edge. On the back, it is marked "Non Pareil" B G within a blue underglaze cartouche. The other attribution is of the importers, "Shuter and Glennon, Montreal". This is arranged within a blue transfer border of laurel leaves. c. 1820-1840
