- appears as if there was gold leaf on the edge of each page.
- back cover has some design engraved on it as front cover.
- both the New and Old Testament are included.
- second page has writing on it: "Mrs. F. McMartin's Holy Bible Coledumedie June 1858", written in faint cursive lettering. On the same page is an envelope with information about the McMartin Family, the donor, and random tiny newspaper clippings.
- the donor wrote that he filled in all the scratches and cracks on the cover with black crayon.
