Description

This is an elaborately cast iron three part fireplace stand. The base is loose from the support shaft and the left side of the "holder" arm is broken. It terminates at the top in a lyre shape. The elaborate footed base or "pan" has a three dimentional fat cherub moulded in it with a scrolled surround and scrolled surround and scrolled feet. This looks dirty due to rust a previous caoting of grey paint now almost completely worn off. c. 1850
