Description

Teapot and Lid: This pewter teapot is shaped like an octagon with eight sides. The base is missing a part of pewter. The spout of the teapot is very fluted and elaborate. The handle is made of wood and has been painted black. it is broken at the bottom. The finial (?) for the lid is also made of wood and has been painted black as well. Engraved on the base are the touch marks. "10"- is the maker's (?) number "W" crown "R"- stands for William Regina (?) 183-1837 "Broadlead + Atkin" - Early Britanna Maker and the first first to incorrporated Seffeild (?) into his touch "830" - company catalogue number "5"- capacity in cups Source- Pewter expert who visited the museum-1997
