Fire carrier is a box like a container fashioned from 3 pieces of sheet metal and held together by rivets. It is constructed like a deep dust-pan. One piece of sheet metal forms the bottom and the two long sides. one piece form the promimal (handle) end and one third of the top, and the remaining piece is hinged and it forms the lid to the top and front bevelled opening. The lid is impressed with a grid pattern and is pierced with a regular 4 leafed clover design. The lid has a small conical metal knob in the centre of its bevelled side. The contoured wooden handles is attached to a metal bar which is fixed to the back side and bottom with rivits. The visible portion of the box has been blackened. The black enamel paint on the handle has been worn off along with a portion of the handle itself. This fire carrier is in good condition. There is evidence of slight oxidization in the interior.
