Description

This walnut needlepoint work frame was used by ladies of the 19th. century to hold their needlework in drawing rooms. Usually used for fancy work. This frame still holds an unfinished panel of embroidery of framed leaves and flowers. It has been resewn to the frame and has a large rent in the background netting. The frame portion swivels and is held constant with two turned knobs at either end and pegs were used in the holes of the framework to keep the frame in place.
