The plate is made of off-white stoneware, and the rim is slightly scalloped. There are embossed scalloped lines around the rim and brink of the brim (4 near the rim and 3 near the brink). Between the lines are 32 embossed flowers. On the centre of the plate there is a black transfer print of a woman sitting with another woman crying into her lap and a man standing beside them looking downcast. On the bottom of the transfer it says "Virginia flys to her Mother for Refuge." There is a footring around the base. There is a transfer print on the base which says "PAUL and VIRGI" and the rest of the word "VIRGINIA" is covered by the engraved manufacture mark, which is in the shape of a shield with "STONE WARE J. T." in the middle.Made/Created
