This clear glass flask-shaped whiskey bottle still has the original paper label on the front. It is printed in gold, white, aquamarine and brown on red. It reads: "McLaren's Pure Malt Whiskey", Perth Distillery, Established 1841. There is a beaver at the apex of the label within a cartouche and the trade mark of crossed shovels appears lower down. The label is in bad condition and torn off in places. It also bears the information as follows: "The genuine Usquebaugh - The genuine old Fashioned Small-Still Whiskey so celebrated in Scotland and Ireland. Warranted free from Fusel Oil." The McLaren distillery was started in 1841 and was still going strong in 1878. This bottle has the number "17" moulded on the bottom which shows this to have been completely moulded and later in date than the bottle bearing the ground pontil mark. The mouth of the bottle has been broken and repaired.Dimensions
