Description

This clear glass flask-shaped whiskey bottle still has the original paper label on the front. It is printed in gold, white, aquamarine and brown on red. It reads: "McLaren's Pure Malt Whiskey" Perth Distillery, established 1841. There is a beaver at the apex of the label within a cartouche and the trade mark of two crossed shovels appears at the bottom. It also bears the information as follows: The genuine usquebaugh- The old Fashioned Small - Still Whiskey so celebrated in Scotland and Ireland. Warranted free from fusel oil. The McLaren distillery was started in 1841 and was still going strong in 1878. There is the number "10" moulded on the bottom of this bottle in place of a ground pontil which shows that this bottle was completely moulded and not blown. A latter process than that of the previous bottles in this collection.
