Description
Stick used by Rick Macleish to score the only goal of the 6th and final game of the 1974 Stanley Cup Finals, giving the Flyers their first championship.
On May 19, 1974 the Flyers had a 3 games to 2 lead over the Boston Bruins in the Stanley Cup finals, with the chance to win the Championship at home. The game ended with a 1-0 Flyers win giving the Flyers their first Stanley Cup Championship. Rick Macleish scored the only goal.

In the 1970s John Pensabene worked as an attendant at The Spectrum during home Flyers games. After the Flyers won the Stanley Cup on May 19, 1974, Mr. Pensabene was in the locker room handing out champagne to the players. As he handed one to Rick Macleish, Rick held out his stick and gave it to Mr. Pensabene. The stick remained in Mr Pensabene's house for more than 40 years. After his father's death, John Pensabene, Jr. was going through items at his house when he came across the hockey stick. He reached out to the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame to see if the Hall would be interested in the stick for it's archives. In June 2018 Ken Avallon made arrangements with John to pick up the stick and transfer ownership to the Hall of Fame.
