When this was a small tree, eight inches in diameter, Philip foster chopped into it (blazed) to establish the Northeast corner of his land grant in 1843. The tree continued to grow for over one hundred years before it was cut down. In 1965, surveyors used this point to build the new highway to Estacada.Collection
