Typed description glued to back of photocopy: "This photo is of the Shankland family that where [were] long time residents of Currinsville area. The house behind the white picket fence is their original home and the house remains there to this day, although remodeled many times over since as shown of board and batten construction. The construction date of this house is estimated at 1870. The date of this photo could be determined by census records and the marriage date of Henry Palmateer and Clara Shankland. Henry Palmateer is standing in the house doorway and Clara is standing on [the] far right side of photo. The family as standing left to right is: Elmer, Theodore, William H. (father), Andrew, Nancy "Linn" (mother), Effie, and Clara. The first post office for the Currisville [Currinsville] area was located in one bedroom of this home. Circa for this photo is about 1900."
