The name of the hotel is at center left in a box font with red ink and "On Lookout Mountain" in cursive print underneath. The top left lists the owner and manager as A.D. Smith, Jr. and at center describes the hotel as "OVERLOOKING THE CITY OF CHATTANOOGA". At the bottom of the hotel name and location is "TELEPHONE TA-2558 - ROUTE 4 - CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE". The hotel was originally owned in 1945 by businessman Leon P. Silberman. In 1956 the hotel was turned into a private club for a short time until A.D. Smith, Jr. reverted it back into a hotel.
