A black and white photograph mounted on a cabinet card of four men. The photograph shows four men standing in front of a canvas tent. The two men on the left are wearing uniform trousers, campaign hat, and are wearing their navy blue flannel shirt with no uniform coats. The man on the far right is wearing a uniform with a wide stripe down the side of his pants with a khaki fatigue blouse and campaign hat. The man beside him, right of center, is wearing a three piece suit and a straw boater. He is drinking from a canteen. They are identified as members of Company M, 5th Regiment of Pennsylvania Volunteers at Camp George H. Thomas, located at Chickamauga Park, during the Spanish-American War.
The rear reads "At Chickamauga Park with Co. M 5th Regt. Pa. Vol. during the Late (if you please) war. The white ribbon in the insignia of the "W.C.T.4." and the canteen contains nothing but - water. Do you travel? Ha! Lieut. Chas. Ziegler Sergts. Welty and Williams." in black ink. "The photo man spoiled this" is written upside down at the top.Photograph Details
