2022.043.001Description
Group photograph of the Headquarters Detachment, Women's Army Corps Training Center Photo, 4443 S.C.U. The photograph consists of fifteen rows of WAC servicewomen. The women are all wearing garrison caps and wool trench coats. A flag is at left with one edge held by a woman in the sixth row that says "HQ DET" at top, a silhouette of Paris Athena, and "(WAC)" at bottom. The photograph is titled "HQ DET W.A.C. 4443 S.C.U., Gladys V. Chick CAPT. W.A.C. Commanding. Fort Oglethorpe, GA. January 10, 1945. Not For Publication" and is signed "Cline Studio HC". Someone has labeled the figured in green ink.
The rear of the photograph features a list of the servicewomen next to their corresponding numbers. Unfortunately the photograph is water damaged and many of the names and numbers have run. The right and left edges have also been cut (likely to fit a frame) and so the names of servicewomen 1,2, 27, 28, 51, 52, 76,77 are missing as well as the first names of 1-25.Photograph Details
