Cardstock business card for W.R. Friend, a conductor for the Queen and Crescent Railroad. The Q & C was a cooperative route through the Southeast that connected Cincinnati, Ohio to New Orleans, Louisiana and Shreveport, Louisiana. The name "W.R. Friend, Q.& C. Route" is at center, with Chattanooga, Tenn. at bottom right.
The cardstock business card has a beveled, silver painted edge cut with decorative corners. There is a black ink engraving of Sunset Rock with a couple standing on the top of the rock formation. "Lookout Division" is at center of the drawing. "Bradi ENG" is written below the engraving. There is also a seal at the bottom for the Order of Railway Conductors Division 148. The ORC was a labor union that represented train conductors.Collection
