Description

Halftone postcard showing the Oak and Lindsay Street sanctuary of the Mizpah Temple. Built in 1904 by J.S. Moudy, the sanctuary was used by the congregation until they moved to the larger and current structure on McCallie. The postcard shows the classical revival style brick structure with a wide staircase leading to a pedimented entryway with four large columns and a star of David in the tympanum. Smaller dwellings or structures can be seen on either side. The verso is blank but has printing in a blue colored ink. Along the left edge is "Published by S.H. Kress & Co. Made in U.S.A." indicating that it is one published and sold in Kress general stores in the United States.
