Cabinet card photograph of Captain [W]. S. Griscom taken by Amos W. Judd Studio. The young man is leaning up against a prop rock formation. There is a ceremonial sword leaning up against the rocks. The young man in wearing a militia - appearing uniform, including fancy epaulets with fringe and an open jacket with Captain sleeve ribbon. He is holding a kepi style hat with hackle. The rear of the card features the Judd logo with butterfly and ribbons. "Been in Bloomington 5 years" written in pencil at the top with "Hattie" written underneath. Underneath the Judd logo says "Chattanooga, Tenn," and "June 1881"
