A gelatin-silver printed postcard with the front showing servicemen from the 6th Cavalry arriving in Newport News, Virginia, sent from Ft. Oglethorpe, Georgia to Vendôme, France. The photo features four honor guard with the American flag leading the rest of the unit down the street. There is also a street car in the background. The approximate location of the photograph is 323 28th Street in Newport News, Virginia. The sender is 2nd Lieutenant Fredrick Albert Victor from New York City, New York. He was honorably discharged from service on August 15, 1919. Message Translation: "I'm always thinking about you and hope that you're in good health. My best regards to Madame [???] I hope to return to France to see you one day. Your friend, F. A. Victor"
