Description

A linen halftone postcard advertising the Scenic Motel. The postcard has a color image of two facing motel cabins overlooking the Tennessee River and the city of Chattanooga. An inset image at center shows an interior view of one of the rental cabins with a dresser and chair in front of a window that features a scenic view of the city. Text in yellow boxes on either side of the interior photograph read "Scenic Motel | Overlooking City of | Chattanooga" on left and "Located 2 miles | from City on | U.S. Hiways | 41, 64, 11, 72". The Information blurb on the verso reads "Scenic Motel | AAA Approved - All electric heated - Modern new rooms- Private baths in every room - Located at Foot of Lookout Moun- | tain Southwest at City Limit on Highways 41, 64, 11, 72. | CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE | Mr. & Mrs. M. L.C. Smith, Owners & Operators | Phone Res. 5-2126" Handwritten in black ink on the verso is "Wonderful | trip. Sure glad I'm | here. See you soon. | Glen." The postcard is also stamped "Hire the Handicapped | It's Good Business" to the left of the postage stamp.
