A black and white photograph developed on postcard paper showing the barracks of the 11th cavalry at Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. The photograph shows a dirt road in between wooden buildings. There are electricity poles in the middle of the drive, each with a two-colored flag posted near the top. Each flag is a Guidon shape with the number of the unit (11) at the top in a darker color and a letter in the bottom in a lighter color. The first pole features a Guidon with an 11 at the top and an "F" in the lower field. The next flag appears to have an "ME" in the bottom field. A uniformed man is walking in the road, just passing the second pole.
The buildings on the right of the road are raised on stilts. The building in the foreground has wooden steps running up to a central door but the building next to it has no steps and what appears to be canvas tents or bags piled up underneath. The row of wooden structures on the right are all facing away from the road. The photograph's negative was labeled "11 CAV, FT. OGLETHORPE. GA." at the bottomPhotograph Details
