Description

A black and white photograph negative showing the Lookout Mountain Incline car at the base station in St. Elmo. The train car is at center with a prominent sign that reads "Welcome to the Lookout Mountain Incline" is at right. The building to the right has a banner above the window that advertises the "Hall of President's Wax Museum" that is housed within and the hand of the figure of Winston Churchill can be seen in the window. The building opposite has a Coca-Cola sign at center and advertises film and souvenirs. In the background of the negative image are several signs, including one advertising the Drake Motel and another advertising for visitors to "Ride the World's Steepest and Safest Incline up Lookout Mountain. Other St. Elmo businesses can be seen as well, including the Midsouth Veterinary and Kay's Kastle. A large dirt pile, sometimes referred to as Pine Top, can be seen in the rear.
