Description

Black and white image of a flat bottomed, sternwheel towboat on drydock. The steamboat, the Chilhowee, has one level with a glass window wheelhouse above the maindeck, in front of the smokestacks. The name of the boat, Chilhowee, is painted on the wall of the main deck as well as underneath the windows of the wheelhouse. The hull of the boat is being lifted with wooden pilings.
