Description

A matchbook cover from Howard's Café in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The front cover features the informaiton on the resteraunt and reads Howard's Cafe | Phone 6-9651 | 125 Cherokee Blvd. | Chattanooga, Tenn. | Howard Hughes, Prop. | Happy New Year | Close Cover for Safety". The back cover features a "Merry Christmas" greeting with a snow scene and cabin in white with a red background. The saddle has a silver background with a green box that reads "Seasons Greetings. The comb has been removed but a message on the interior features tow candlesticks bracketing a text box which reads: "Season's Greetings We wish to express our sincere appre- ciation of your patronage and trust that we shall enjoy the privilege of serving you all through the year to come" Above the striker reads, in green ink, "Superior Match Co., Chicago, U.S.A." with a trade council logo and the number 19.
