Black and white photograph developed and adhered to a cabinet card backing of the interior of the First Methodist Episcopal Church (also known as the Stone Church) in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The church was built on the corner of Georgia and McCallie Ave c. 1885. The photograph shows the church's chancel, alter, choir space, and pipe organ.
The foreground of the photograph shows three long rows of wooden pews in front of a wooden altar rail. Between the rail and altar are several large flower arrangements on and around wooden plant stands, with one large arrangement covering the altar. Rows of wooden chairs sir behind the altar and a large pipe organ that takes up the majority of the rear wall.
The negative is marked with the initials E.M.W. and the rear reads "First Methodist Ep. Church Stone Church - McCallie Ave, corner Georgia Ave. " in black ink.Photograph Details
