A black and white photograph of a group of people standing at the site of Garrity's Alabama Battery at Point Park, Lookout Mountain, Tennessee. The photograph features the monument's two cannons and historical marker that overlook the Chattanooga Valley, Tennessee River, and Moccasin Bend. There are four tourists standing on the rock formation. A couple stands at bottom, center next to one of the artillery pieces. The woman is wearing a light shirt and short outfit with a large purse at her left elbow. The man to her right is wearing a light, short-sleeved button up shirt and khaki trousers. Above them, standing on a rock platform are three men, one of whom is wearing a pith helmet.
The rear has a number of stamps as well as handwritten lines. They read "Lookout Mountain", "mountains", "Lookout", "Jun 5 1960P", "SUNATRAVEL", "Civil War". Industrial pollution can be seen in the smog that is hovering over the valley.Photograph Details
