Black and white photograph of the Hotel Northern lobby in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The hotel was located on the corner of 8th and Chestnut. Thomas H. Keef is standing behind the desk at center with a ledger book open in front of him. A slot machine sits on the counter to his left and a safe is open behind him.
The photograph shows a cigar counter to the right of the main lobby desk with the lower portion filled with boxes of Muriel brand cigar boxes. The upper portion is filled with open boxes of Muriel, El Trellis, and Garcia brand cigars and a postcard stand sits on the top. Behind the desk, a candlestick telephone is on a telescoping pole in front of the window which has "Northern" painted on it. A desk sits behind the cigar counter with a wall clock that reads "Meyer-Leach Jewelry Co." in gold on the case. A calendar above the desk with an image of the Brooklyn Bride and New York City is open to January 1924. A calendar is on the wall advertising "Brandon Printing Company, Nashville Tennessee" has the calendar page open to May 1924.Photograph Details
