A black and white photographic postcard showing the Lookout Mountain Hotel and grounds. The postcard, with an image of a decorative frame around the edges, shows the hotel at center, surrounded by the hotel's grounds. The center of the building features a ten-story tower with wings projecting from either side. The Tudor Revival style hotel was built in 1927 by Chattanooga architect R. H. Hunt. The hotel offered amenities of a swimming pool, tennis courts, a miniature golf course, croquet courts, horseback riding, and weekly dances held at "The Overlook". The Overlook was a two-story stone terrace opposite of the hotel. Due to its location along the Dixie Highway, the hotel became a popular tourist spot during the autotourism boom, along with nearby Rock City and Ruby Falls.
The postcard has no divide but has the headings of "Correspondence" and "Address" as well as the AZP stamp box with squares at corner.Subject Person/Organization
