A gelatin-silver printed photographic postcard of the construction of the south side of the Chief John Ross Memorial Bridge, with the Walnut Street Bridge (County Bridge) visible in the background. A building in the background can be seen, with "The Old Reliable" Connecting downtown Chattanooga with North Chattanooga, the Chief John Ross Memorial Bridge (locally known as the Market Street Bridge) was completed two years after this postcard was sent. Costing a total of $1.1 million, it was dubbed the "Million Dollar Bridge" at the time. It connects Market Street across the Tennessee River to North Chattanooga. “904 Chamberlain Ave. – Do not think it possible to be at commencement. Am very busy. We have some big construction issues here. This card will give you an idea of one end of the bridge. We have the largest concrete chuting system ever built. Towers are 220 ft. above water. Will keep you in mind. I am enjoying it here. – R. H. Lee.“
