Black and white photograph mounted on thick carding showing two flat bottomed boats on the Tennessee River. The image shows the bow and star-board side of the H.S. Chamberlain in the Tennessee River with a float of logs in the water beside it. Seven men stand on the main deck of the Chamberlain and a man and child can be seen in the window of the pilot house. Behind the Chamberlain is the J.W. Hill., a sternwheel tugboat. Two women and a young girl can be seen standing on the bow of the Hill. G.R. Chapman | Kingston, Tenn." is written in pencil on the verso.
