Photograph of World War Two U. S. Army veteran and Beaver, Ohio native Kenneth Thompson. Kenneth Alonzo “Stump” Thompson, aged 86, died March 21, 2010. He was born May 13, 1923 the son of Benjamin Franklin and Bertha Mae Kuntzman Thompson. He graduated from Beaver High School in 1940. Soon after graduation the nation became embroiled in World War Two and Ken joined the United States Army. He enlisted on January 9, 1943 at Huntington WV. He served in India and the Island of Tinian. He was assigned to the 20th Division of the Army Air Corps. He was discharged at Camp Atterbury IN on January 19, 1946. He retired from the Inland Division of General Motors as a general foreman after thirty years and was a charter member of the Inland retiree club. He was a member of American Legion Post 746 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9942 of Beaver. He was married to Donna J. Thompson. Donna was born on February 1, 1942 the daughter of Frank and Roberta Giles Thompson. She died on May 20, 2018. Ken and Donna were buried in Beaver Union Cemetery.Collection
