The hot springs and shallow pools at Yellowstone National Park may give us clues as to the conditions on early Earth or Mars. The colors in the pools are attributed to algae in the water. This was painted on site, but Bill changed some land and sky features to resemble possible conditions on early Mars, where life might have emerged under similar conditions.
