Joyce Zucker examined painting and noticed the hands, collar and face have a higher gloss than surrounding areas. Cosmetic work can be done in the future to improve the retouchings.Valuations

Once hung in Coe Hall.
Came into possession of Mr. and Mrs. William Kelly Simpson. Michael Coe approached them about selling it directly to the Foundation. As they did not express interest in the proposition, the painting was purchased at auction by the Foundation on 1/9/1980.
