c. 1998 Eric Price examined frame and noted it has been completely overpainted with a heavy layer of discolored bronze powder paint. Inside of all corners have been crudely repaired. General loss of detail due to heavy paint layer, gesso is flaking in areas, corners are cracked, but appear stable.Maintenance

July 8, 1986 Sherman Art Conservation Studio cleaned frame with Naphtha, consolidated flaking areas, filled in missing areas of molding and gilding with Vinyl Spackling Paste, and reintegrated missing gilding with bronze pigments in Acrylic B-72 resin and Magna colors, for $125.Provenance
