Description

Frame for painting "In Morocco". Frame is made up of two inserts - the outer molding is a flat profile with a beveled sight edge and an added band of bead and reel ornament. Finish is gold leaf. Inner molding is also a flat profile - very crude, with a band of bead and reel ornament. This molding finished in bronze powder paint.

Notes

Examined by Eric Price in 1996, who noted the ornament on both sections of frame have been added. Gesso around outer edge is unstable and lifting with scattered losses. The mitered corners of the inner moulding are open.
